History of Prem Mandir

The fifth Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj lays the foundation stone for the Prem Mandir in 2001, and the building was finished in 2012. In February 2012, it was dedicated to Shri Vrindavan Dham and opened to the public. It is one of Vrindavan’s newest and most awe-inspiring temples.

Architecture of Prem Mandir Vrindavan

Thousands of artisans worked day and night to complete the structure of this majestic temple, which cost INR 150 crores to build. To be worthy of the tremendous sums of money and effort spent on the site, the architecture of the Prem Mandir must be stunning and mesmerising.

The Prem Mandir is a 54-acre property on the outskirts of Vrindavan, built in the Rajasthani Somnath Gujarati architectural style. The entire edifice was built with high-quality Italian marble and reflects a “renaissance in ancient Indian art and architecture.” The total height, length, and width of the structure are 125 feet tall, 122 feet long, and 115 feet broad.

The temple’s doors and windows are ornately carved, and the walls and floor are covered with colourful semi-precious stones depicting flowering vines with buds and blossoms. The engravings on the main sanctum and the ceiling are also beautiful and enthral the viewer.

The soothing light of the gorgeous chandeliers illuminates the entire temple, making it a sight to behold. Prem Mandir’s lighting changes colour every five minutes and is strategically placed.
