ISKCON Temple
The Gaudiya Vaishnava faith is practised by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), also referred to as the Hare Krishna movement or Hare Krishnas. ISKCON was established by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in New York City in 1966.
The Bhagavad Gita and the Bhagavata Purana, in particular, constitute the foundation for its main principles. The Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition, which has adherents in India since the early 16th century and followers in the United States and Europe from the early 1900s, is represented by ISKCON, which is “the largest and, probably, most important branch”.
ISKCON was established to promote Bhakti yoga, a sort of devotional practice in which participants (called bhaktas) devote their thoughts and deeds to Krishna, whom they see as the Supreme Lord, by doing so.

How to join ISKCON Temple?
A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada established the ISKCON International Life Patron program in the early 1970s in order to welcome everyone into the ISKCON family. In order to conveniently attend the inspiring spiritual activities, he welcomed everyone in the world to gain Krishna’s conscious association by lodging in ISKCON temples while traveling.
You need to know the basics before joining Iskcon temple:
- Seva- You have a wonderful opportunity to serve Sri Krishna, the Supreme Lord, and show Him your gratitude. The ultimate giver and receiver are the Supreme Lord.
- Partisanship Card- You will receive an updated full list of “ISKCON centres throughout the World” along with a centrally issued hologram patronship card bearing your portrait and patron number.
- Meals- You are welcome to take advantage of the complimentary prasadam offered twice daily for three days at every ISKCON centre, whether or not you stay the night. This does not apply to restaurant meals or snacks sold on temple grounds; rather, it applies solely to meals served to temple residents during their regular service hours.
- Accommodation- For three days each year, you are welcome to take advantage of the spiritual atmosphere at any ISKCON centre that is recognised as such. In some facilities, room maintenance fees can be necessary; this is contingent upon the availability of rooms reserved for Life Patrons and a confirmed reservation in advance. The guest, their spouse, any children under the age of 18, and any parents who are still dependent on them but are above 60 will all stay in a single room. The hosting center’s judgment governs whether to allow the use of this facility if the cardholder is not physically present.
- Spiritual Knowlege- With a complete collection of Srimad-Bhagavatam in your choice of Bengali, Hindi, or English, you may transform your home into a transcendental library.
- Tax Benefit- Under section 80G of the Income Tax Act, donors in India are eligible for a tax exemption.
- Who can enroll- Anyone who is at least 18 years old may enroll. The minor child of a current life patron, however, may convert to life patron status by paying the ongoing full fees. No limitations exist regarding nationality, place of residence, etc.
- Patron card- Within India, your card should arrive by courier or registered mail within three months. Outside of India, there is an additional mailing fee. The card cannot be transferred to another person. A surviving spouse of a Life Patron who has expired, however, is qualified for free membership after completing the enrollment process. Contact the enrolling centre to get your name added to the mailing list of the other centre if you later move to another area and desire to affiliate with another ISKCON centre there.
Book Set
The donor or any representative they choose may pick up the book set from the temple after your whole donation has been received and paid to the ISKCON bank account.
