Me and my friends started from Delhi to Orchha by train. It was really very fun and exciting. After we went to Orchha I searched an affordable hotel near Ram Mandir, I found a guest house name Mahant Guest House that was only 63 meters from Ram Mandir so it was easy for us to travel. It was really very tiring travelling from so far away. So we all decided to go another day.
The day we visited was a day for “Chattuja,” thus the temple was overcrowded; we approached the main god via another route and had a quick and pleasant darshan.
Just outside of the route to the temple, there are several sweet shops serving Prasad along with fast food. I would recommend everyone who goes over there should try the milk cake, which dissolves in your mouth as soon as you eat it. It was one of my favourites.
Overall, it is a wonderful spot to visit with your loved ones and receive the blessings of Shri Ram!!
What Is The History Behind Orchha Ram Mandir?
Madhukar Shah Ju Dev, King of Orchha, was a follower of Banke Bihari (Lord Krishna) of Brindavan, although his wife Queen Ganesh Kunwari was a devotee of Ram. The King and Queen visited Lord Krishna’s temple one day, but it had closed by then. The queen asked the king to return, but the prince refused. As a result, both the king and queen agreed to stay. They joined a group of worshippers outside the temple who were singing and dancing in honour of Lord Krishna.
Following that event, the king requested that the queen visit him to Braj-Mathura, the land of Lord Krishna, but the queen wanted to travel to Ayodhya. After this the king got angry and ordered the queen to stop praying for Lord Ram’s child form and follow him to Braj. But the queen was determined, so the king answered, “You keep praying to Ram, but Ram never comes in front of us. If you go to Ayodhya, go, but come back only once you have the child avatar of Ram with you. Only then can I recognise your genuine commitment.” The queen agreed to go to Ayodhya and return with Ram’s kid form, or she would kill herself in Ayodhya’s Sarayu river. The queen left the palace and began the lengthy journey on foot to Ayodhya to convey Lord Ram to Orchha.
The Queen accepted and began her journey to Orchha while holding baby Ram in her lap. It took her 8 months and 27 days to walk from Ayodhya to Orchha. Lord Ram told the queen that he was pleased with her prayers and that she could request a blessing, at which point the queen asked Ram to accompany her to Orchha in child form. Ram decided to go, but with three conditions. The Queen accepted and began her journey to Orchha while holding baby Ram in her lap.
When the King awoke and saw that the queen was coming from Ayodhya, he was exceedingly sorry. The King went to meet the queen, bringing horses, elephants, servants, food, and so on and apologised to her. The queen refused to accept the king’s apology and the comforts he offered her. The Queen declared that she’ll have everything a person could desire. The queen then returned to her kingdom with baby Ram and slept in her room for the night, only to return the next day to take Lord Ram to the Chaturbhuj Temple. However, Lord Ram’s requirements required that he take the first seat, thus Lord Ram changed into an idol and became fixed in the queen’s palace itself.
